Cascade Building Supply is more than a lumber yard - it is a renewed promise to the people of Cascade and the surrounding valley. Opened in June 2025, the Store brings back something the community had long missed: a trusted source for lumber and construction materials, tailored to the needs of hardworking builders, farmers, and families in this proud mountain town.

Our story begins with Kowallis and Richards, a privately owned, three-generation supply company that has served Idaho since 1950. Known as the original industrial fastener supplier in Boise, Kowallis has spent 75 years supporting commercial construction, manufacturing, and maintenance industries across the state. When Kowallis explored opening a second location, the company listened carefully to what the Cascade residents wanted - the return of a lumber store — a role once filled by the original Cascade Building Supply that closed in the early 2000s.

Out of respect for the community’s wishes, Kowallis embraced the challenge of bringing lumber back to town. The company not only expanded its product line but also reclaimed the historic Cascade Building Supply name and restored operations in the original building. This decision was made intentionally: to honor the town’s heritage and to show that the store is not just here to do business, but to be a partner in the community’s growth.

Today, Cascade Building Supply is dedicated to serving professional contractors and builders with high-quality materials that keep projects moving forward. From framing lumber to essential construction supplies, our shelves are stocked with products chosen for durability and performance. Just as importantly, our team is committed to the values Cascade holds dear—hard work, mutual respect, and supporting one another through seasons of growth and change.
